New Xperia X10 Update coming:

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Sony Ericsson just posted on their product blog that a new software update is coming for the Xperia X10. It will improve both the speed and responsiveness, add a backup and restore application and PlayNow will be updated with both Premium apps and games. Best of all is that this update will be delivered over the air. Can not wait until it hits mine:-)

Many of you have been asking about the software update coming to the Xperia X10 this summer and we are pleased to share the details of it today.

This update will be gradually rolled out across our markets over the coming weeks, pending the completion of quality approvals for individual markets and operators. The first updates are now live across selected markets. Please check with your local Sony Ericsson customer support when the upgrade will be available for your market and network.

When the update is available in your market you will receive a message in the notification bar of your X10. The easiest way to get the new software is to accept this update – you can use your mobile network connection or a WiFi connection for the download. Alternatively you can update your phone using your PC – please visit www.sonyericsson.com/update and follow the instructions.

This update focuses on improving the general performance, speed and responsiveness of Xperia X10. For example, there are speed improvements in messaging tasks and camera UI. In addition we add a free back up and restore application so you’ll never lose your settings and information. In selected markets, PlayNow™ with premium apps and games will also be added.

We hope you like these improvements. Please continue to interact with us. We listen to your feedback.

Polarbit releases Fuzzies on the Android marketplace

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Swedish developer Polarbit has released Fuzzies on the Android Marketplace. It can best be described as a clone of the old Amiga game Lemmings. It looks like a game that one could enjoy. Anyone tried it yet? I am just hoping that Google soon releases the ability to purchase apps on the Android marketplace here in Sweden so that we can see game developers like Polarbit conquer their homemarkets also.

Stockholm, Sweden – Polarbit, noted cross- mobile- and handheld game developers announced today that the popular iPhone AppStore game Fuzzies is now available on Android Market.

Fuzzies is a sidescrolling puzzle/platformer in which players aid a band of carefree monkeys over, around and through a host of tricky obstacles by assigning them a variety of different tasks and abilities. Monkeys are lazy and not very bright, so a monkey without an assigned task will just keep shuffling straight into oblivion.

Key features of the game include:
• Hours of fun in 28 mind-bending levels
• Easy to learn, difficult to master intuitive gameplay
• Beautiful, cartoonish graphics and animations
• Nine funky music tracks

Slashgear reviews the iPhone 4

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

If you are interested in the iPhone 4 I would recommend checking out Slashgears review. It offers everything that you may need to know about the iPhone 4.

Out of the box, though, the iPhone 4 is one of the most polished, appealing smartphones on the market today. By boosting the camera, upgrading the screen and generally tightening up the whole user experience, Apple has neatly answered most of the complaints from previous models together with addressing some – like the Retina Display – we didn’t even know we had. The antenna issue is frustrating, certainly, but unlikely to be a deal-breaker, and the improvement in battery life is more than welcome; moreover, there’s something inherent in the iPhone 4 that goes beyond “just another” phone and demands you engage with it. Apple’s approach to mobile continues to polarize opinion, but for those with the acquired taste the iPhone 4 is Cupertino’s best yet and a strong contender for smartphone of 2010.

Thoughts after using an iPad 64GB 3G version

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

I have been using an iPad 64 GB 3G version for the last couple of weeks. At the beginning I was not certain on what to expect since I have used an iPod Touch and iPhone but they have not really catched on for me. I have found that compared to when I used my iPhone/iPod Touch I am using it much more and interacting with it. The thing that I may not have expected when I at first got the device was that that the iPhone compatible applications does not adapt to the resolution that the iPad has. Since I have the 3G version a big issue for me was how am I going to actually start using the 3G modem inside my iPad. The answer to that was simply that I had to cut my sim card to make it work here in Sweden. The first time I cut it right, but my iPad did not recognize the sim card since it was simply to old (it was around 4 years old) so I went to the 3 store and picked up a new sim card. Sweet that they do not charge for new sim cards :- )

Even though I have the Documents To Go Suite on my iPad I knew one thing immediately and that was that I had to pick up Apple own suite (Pages, Numbers, etc.. ). Even tough I am a PC guy at heart I know that the Apple suites looks darn good to be honest. Even being a PC person at heart I have always known that the iWorks suite looks darn good to be honest.

I have push Gmail setup on my iPad which means that I am syncing the device up to my Gmail account and both my iPad and Android device have the latest information.

My favorite game so far must be Pinball HD game. Playing Pinball on my old Windows 95/98 devices was perhaps my most favorite game. Right after Sim City:- )

I have tired plenty of Twitter clients on my iPad and so far my favorite is Osfoora HD. A great twitter application that allows easy communication with other. Quick read and reply. Bascially it is an awesome twitter client :- ) Review coming soon:- )

I am one of those persons that do alot of mindmaps on my devices and often on the lookout for what could be my next mindmap solution.. After looking around on the web for what I think would be the perfect solution I have found one iThoughts HD. Perfect solution that allows for easy creation of mindmaps right thereo n my device.

There is actually one application that I think deservers  extra special attention and that is Mobile Safari. When Steve Jobs introduced the iPad he said that it will be the best webbrowsing experience that you have ever had and he was right. I am extremely happy with it:-) Even with the lack of Flash I have been able to visit all my favorite webpages so far. Not exactly missing it either at the moment:-)

X10 Mini Pro quick taste

Monday, June 28th, 2010

I have been enjoying using the X10 Mini Pro and personally I think that this may be the next device for me. The slideout keyboard is in one word awesome. I have really been enjoying the review unit that Sony Ericsson sent me and when that one goes back I am heading out and purchasing my own.

In the mean time enjoy this new video that Sony Ericsson have posted on their youtube channel and the review will hopefully be published this weekend.
