Confessions of a Windows Mobile Geek

This a new series that I will be running weekly on Swedish Tech Report called ‘Confessions of a Windows Mobile Geek’ where I discuss why I have choosen to have Windows Mobile as my main operating system.

The first post in this series will be about my current main device and why it is my main device. My current main device is the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1.

The first thing I want to talk about is the panel interface. You can choose six main panels that fit’s your taste. There is a big range to choose between ,some of these includes panels from your local operator, Skype, CNN, SPB Panel and many more. The one that I currently have as my favorite is CNN Panel. It allows me to see the current top news at CNN. Look at the picture below and you will se a picture of my current today screen.

There is a huge range options that you can do with this panel. If you do not wish to to see the current top stories you can choose between a different variety of topics such as business, world, sports, tech and entertainment. If you have news to report you can choose the ‘i-report’ to report it directly to CNN. What is interesting about this is that you can actually uppload both pictures and video directly to CNN.

In the first picture you saw my Xperia with my Plantronics Voyager Pro. These two are an awesome combination. The bluetoot quality on my Xperia has always been really good. When I talk on my Xperia I have always enjoyed the call quality. The Plantronics Voyager Pro have always worked excellent for me. I have never had an issue with this headset so it feels like an excellent combination with having great call quality both when I talk on the phone and on the bluetooth headset. It is supposed to give you around six horus of talking quality. I can say that for those six hours you get an amazing call quality. I made a call from Sweden to Switzerland. With different bluetooth headsets I can some times get really bad call quality, but with thePlantronics Voyager Pro I got amazing call quality.

Other features that I enjoy about the headset is the shape of it. When I first adapted it onto my ear I noticed how well it directly fitted around my ear.You sacrifice the style that you perhaps get with different headsets but you gain an incredible call quality that you do not get with other headsets.
